Back in 2010 I made an important choice that led to who I have become today.
When I had to choose which faculty to enrol in after high school, I was undecided between mathematics and psychology. It was not an easy choice. I had never had psychology lessons in high school, it was a totally new discipline for me, yet I heard a call, like the sirens for Ulysses. And fortunately, unlike him, I could not resist the temptation.
I graduated in clinical psychology from the University of Bologna with a thesis on sexual dysfunctions in patients with chronic gastrointestinal disorders.
I then continued my education by getting a postgraduate diploma in cognitive-interactionist psychotherapy (constructivism approach) in the school of Padua, Italy.
In addition to clinical practice, I also like to devote myself to research. I think a professional should never get tired of learning, knowing, discovering. My research interests focus on chronic diseases, sexuality and psychosomatics.
I am currently conducting another study on sexuality in women suffering from vulvodynia and endometriosis.
About my job I love feeling moved while listening to life stories and seeing a person open the door to their universe and tiptoe in.
I am glad I chose this profession because, despite the constant challenges, it allows me to be a spectator and participate in the magic of seeing a person rise up, flourish, and live life as they would like to do so.
